Are you currently awaiting your child's birth and have a confirmed diagnosis of Down syndrome or did you receive the diagnosis after your child was born? Would you like another parent's perspective? Would you like to learn techniques and tips that will further your child's development? Is your child awaiting or recuperating from a surgery or have an ongoing medical condition? Do you have questions about your child's education and rights? Are you contemplating your son or daughter's options for jobs, independent living and lifelong learning and recreation?

Our diverse membership allows flexibility to meet a family’s unique needs. Coping with the
challenges, celebrating the joys and embracing the future. Here are a just a few ways to seek
support for you and your child:

Call the office at 502.495.5088 or email for a Parent-to-Parent Match. One of our parent volunteers would be happy to meet with you or answer questions and  concerns about their child and their personal experiences.

Contact the office to receive the Down Syndrome of Louisville Newsletter. This is an excellent source for upcoming events, educational and resource to real life stories from our families.

Enroll your child in the Early Education Intervention Program. This program serves children from birth to five years of age. Parents participate with the child for a total developmental learning experience for the child and family. Group sessions begin at 18 months to foster relationships with children of similar ages and their families. There is no cost for this service.

Enroll your child in the School Age Creative Educational Enrichment Program. This program serves children in grades K-6. It is group program which utilizes multi-sensory modalities with the emphasis on communication and social skills presented in a creative and engaging manner. There is no cost for this service.

Attend Mom's Night Out.Monthly meetings at various locations where Mom's come together to share their stories and lend support in an informal setting.

Attend Dad's Night Out. Monthly meetings at various locations where Dad's come together to share their stories and lend support in an informal setting.

Attend Parent Workshops. Sessions scheduled throughout the year on topics of interest for specific stages of life. Contact the office to suggest a topic that you'd like to discuss.

Join us for our Family Social Events. This is a fun way to network with other families and an opportunity for the children to form friendships. See the calendar of events for times and locations – all ages are welcome!

Encourage your teen or adult to attend the Teen/Adult Activities. Regularly scheduled activities to foster independence, lifelong learning and social skills.
